Tēburu is a concept for a simple experience: whisky tasting.
The concept attempts to automate such an experience, but humanize it to a degree where the automation and robotics behind the scenes become almost invisible, and one can focus on the tasting experience wholly and meditatively.
Coasters move about like koi in a pond of light, navigating each other and coordinating the customer's tasting experience silently and without fanfare. Customers select which whisky they intend to try, a coaster arrives to pick up their glass, the coaster returns with their selection, neat or with a spherical ice cube. Customers then place their glass on the bar surface where they made their selection, and the surface prompts them to select what season their whisky evokes: Summer? Fall? Winter? Spring?
