The Pilot

"The Pilot" is a triptych of digital art pieces that tell the beginning of a larger story taking place at a post-United States point in history, where the first peoples of the American Southwest have re-established sovereignty and defend their land and resources as a highly advanced, militarized civilization. The images attempt to use space, light, and architecture as storytelling mediums that give impressionistic context. Visual easter eggs within the environment help infer a larger narrative and world. The scenes were assembled, framed, and lit in real time using Unreal Engine 5. Inspiration was found in the Ancestral Puebloan cliff dwellings at Mesa Verde National Park.
